Rain and Thunderstorms Move East Tonight, Impact New Jersey Easter Morning

A powerful storm system moved across the central United States, bringing the risk of tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds, according to the National Weather Service.

Areas at Risk
Today: States across the Midwest and South were placed under severe weather alerts.

Tomorrow (Easter Sunday): East coast including New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania tri-state area. Rain with isolated Thunderstorms will move through the Ocean County area Easter mid-morning bringing periods of heavy rain and wind gusts before pushing out of the area in the late afternoon. 

Emergency Preparedness
Officials urged residents to prepare for rapidly changing conditions and keep close watch on forecasts and warnings.

Travel Disruptions
The storm threat was expected to affect both air travel and road conditions.

Forecasters said the system would continue moving east through the weekend.
